Logistical Arrangements

November 20, 2009: The Secretariat has released an Information Note for the Conference, which provides a comprehensive, detailed summary of information participants will need. Participants are urged to review this Note to assist in making their arrangements.

November 16, 2009: A briefing on the logistics and organizational aspects of the Conference, co-organized by the Permanent Mission of Kenya and the Special Unit for South-South Cooperation, UNDP, will be held on Wednesday, 18 November 2009, from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. in the Economic and Social Council Chamber. November 12, 2009: The Secretariat has identified local hotels for participants and compiled a listing of visa requirements for those travelling to Nairobi.

November 6, 2009: The Secretariat concluded its joint planning mission to Nairobi.  The Conference will be held at the United Nations Office of Nairobi (UNON), at the UN Complex in Gigiri.

October 20, 2009: Translators have been arranged for the six official UN languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish.

October 19, 2009: Press materials will be prepared by the Department of Public Information for journalists covering the Conference.  In addition, the documents counter in the media area of the UN Secretariat’s headquarters in New York will provide all Conference documents, as well as press releases on its plenary meetings, round tables and other events.  They will also be made available electronically at the Conference website.
